Luis Valenzuela Prado teaches and conducts research at Universidad Andrés Bello. His work examines film, fiction, images, territories, waste and crime. He has published the novels Jueves, Operación Betulio, La risa del payaso and Los inútiles. Since 2022 he has co-organised Puerto Negro, a week devoted to crime literature, and hosts its podcast with Miguel Ángel Vargas.
