Ramón Díaz Eterovic was born in Punta Arenas in 1956. He has published twenty novels featuring the detective Heredia, as well as short stories, children’s novels and crime-fiction anthologies. His honours include the Anna Seghers Prize, the Altazor Prize, the Manuel Montt Prize and the Francisco Coloane National Narrative Prize. In 2022 he received the Santiago Negro Recognition for his career.
